Berliners: Jochen Smuda
17 June 2014 - Berlin
With Summerclash just around the corner we thought we'd get some of Berlin's best known residents together to share some of their favourite spots in the city away from Mellowpark.
Today, former Salomon pro and Ucon co-founder/owner Jochen Smuda gives us his insights on the city.
How long have you lived in Berlin?
7 years for now.
What made you move to Berlin?
The chances to go the next step with UCON made us come here. Also beside that it is a fabulous city with a lot of creative potential.
What keeps you in Berlin and makes it a better place to live than anywhere else?
I think there are definitly greater places to live to be honest. It is a great city, I love it, but of course I also miss the nature on the other side pretty much. What I love most about Berlin is that there is so much to explore. There is no end, you can always find out something new. The creative potential is just huge, and that makes it a great place to live.
The best place to eat in Berlin?
The best place to get a coffee?
The best place to party?
Impossible to say!
The best place to chill?
The best place in the city to get inspired?
Open your eyes walking through the city.
The best place to see some history?
Ethnological museum Dahlem
The best place to shop?
One piece of advice for people visiting Berlin?
Just don’t plan to much, get to the city and flow around. There is so much to see on every corner.
One vital item to take to the Summerclash?
Cameras because unfortunately I cannot come to the Clash because of my brothers wedding.
