With Summerclash just around the corner we thought we'd get some of Berlin's best known residents together to share some of their favourite spots in the city away from Mellowpark.
First up, the founder and organiser of Summerclash, Jojo Jacobi.
How long have you lived in Berlin?
Must be around 5 years now. Loving every minute here.
What made you move to Berlin?
My friends were already living here or about to move here and I was free to live wherever I wanted so it was the only logical decision. Turned out to be the best one I made in years.
What keeps you in Berlin and makes it a better place to live than anywhere else?
My friends! Also theres always something going on, tons of nice places to hang out, bars, the fact that you can basically get everything you want at any time of the day, thats something I haven't experienced anywhere else yet. Also the whole vibe of the city, all the young people that are trying to create something or are just getting lost. Great place to be at for now!
The best place to eat in Berlin?
No favorite place. But i got into thai food recently a lot and theres so many good places for that.
The best place to get a coffee?
Don't drink coffee, but i´m into Chai tea a little and a place called Maccondo in Friedrichshain is a nice one. Pretty cosy place.
The best place to party?
No favorite club or something, but the best parties are the ones at random places when you didn't expect anything.
The best place to chill?
Rent a little paddleboat for a cruise on the river - thats pretty chill and awesome..
The best place in the city to get inspired?
Walk around Kreuzberg, Friedrichshain or other areas and explore yourself!
The best place to see some history?
I´m not the right one to answer that i´m afraid.
The best place to shop?
Interwebz - i hate shopping, sorry.
One piece of advice for people visiting Berlin?
Check last.fm and find a nice concert to watch. Theres so many every single day and some are in pretty cool venues in nice areas.
One vital item to take to the Summerclash?
Tent! But also don't forget your sunglasses and swim shorts!
